Have you ever given your pup an egg?🥚 You can give your pup an egg a few different ways. I give him an egg a couple of times per week!
*I'm sharing my experience and what I have learned from being Hudson’s mom.
Raw or Cooked:
I give Huddy a raw egg for vitamins & nutrients and it is one of his favorite treats. He is the most picky pup in the world with food, but the second he hears an egg being cracked he runs over to ask for one.
You can also give your pup a cooked egg!! Which is definitely not as messy.
Shell:
You can pick if you want your pup to eat the shell or not.
*I would not let him eat the shell if it was a market egg
How I feed it to him:
I give Hudson a raw egg that I get from either our chickens or the farmer's market. I feel that those are the best for him. I like to hand him the egg whole.
He will usually carry it around and try his best not to crack it for a while. Once it cracks, he will eat the egg, and even sometimes the shell if it's from our chickens
*Make sure to get eggs that are free of chemicals
Fun Facts:
Eggs have some amazing health benefits for dogs.
Eggs are one of the nature’s superfoods! The perfect protein source full of amino acids and fatty acids that are amazing for your dog's skin and coat.
Cracking a raw egg over your dog's food can offer certain nutritional benefits, including a protein boost, improved coat health, enhanced nutrient absorption, increased energy levels, and support for brain function.
Eggs should never be the sole source of protein for your dog, much like dog food contains other much-needed nutrients for a healthy, balanced diet. Think of them more like a treat.
I love being able to share the different things I learn from being a dog mom and I am having so much fun with this series. Make sure to follow along as I share more! I will be saving all of these to a guide.
Remember always do your own research, ask your vet, and do whats best for you and your pup.
