Tips For Flying With Your Dog: Getting Your Pup Comfortable In Their Carrier

Welcome back to another Travel Tuesday! This week, we're talking about pet carriers. I put together a checklist to help you get your pup confident and comfortable in their own carrier!

Checklist:

  • Make The Carrier A Safe Spot

    • Give your dog treats in their carrier, leave the carrier out at home, and let your dog get comfortable in their carrier before traveling with them.

  • Don't Zip It Up Right Away

    • When your dog is getting comfortable in their carrier don't zip it up right away. Let them get comfortable first.

  • Use The Carrier Before You Travel

    • Once your dog is comfortable in the carrier. Practice by taking your dog in the car in their carrier to their favorite place. Give them time to acclimate to their carrier.

  • Favorite Toy Or Piece Of Clothing

    • When you are traveling with the carrier put their favorite toy inside or a piece of your clothing that smells like you.
